Impact Card Rules

Set-up: Put all the cards into one pile and shuffle to make a draw pile. Note: you will want roughly about 10 cards per player.

3-5 players are recommended.

Deal 5 cards to each player.

Youngest player goes first.

Objective: You are creating your very own Morning Impact Line-Up. You want to get the most laughs and have the funniest Line-Up.

Play:

Select one of your cards and play it in front of you. Complete all actions on the card if possible. Then the play passes to the next player. The play rotates clockwise until a player reverses the play.

On your next turn, when you play a card down in front of you, play it to the right of the last card you played. Do this for each following turn you take.

Round end: a round is over if: 1) a player’s hand is empty, 2) a player played a 7th card in their line up, or 3) if there are no cards left in the deck or discard pile (shuffle the discard pile into the deck when someone needs to draw a card but can’t).

Scoring: when one of the 3 ways to cause a round to end has occurred, each player will add up all the laughs at the top left corner of each card in their line up. Next, they’ll locate the negative numbers on the bottom right of each card that are left in their hand from their total. That will give them the number of laughs they earned that round. Players CAN earn negative points and lose total points but their overall point total can never go below zero. They just stop at 0.

Also note: some cards below their text box have a Star symbol. This Star symbol means it has a bonus way of scoring Laughs. Be sure to check those during this step also.

Then the next round begins with the player to the left of the player that caused the last round to end and the play continues clock wise.

I recommend keeping up with the score on a piece of paper and play to a score total determined by the group.

If this is your first game, I recommend you play to

50 laughs for 3-4 players

25 laughs for 5 players

After you learn the game, you could increase this number if you want to play longer.
